NEW + NOW - "COOL ENDORSEMENT" SPOTS
Nickelodeon wanted to create a franchise, which would give advertisers'
products the Nickelodeon "stamp of cool." (without it looking like a
direct endorsement of the product - hence the lack of Nick branding).
The challenge was to create something that could house a range of
products from video games to clothing. Here are two applications. Animation by the mighty Superfad.
DORA FANTASY ADVENTURE PRODUCTS AT TOYS R' US
This concept was based on a friends' daughter who never wanted to take her princess dress off.
SPONGEBOB WATCHES AT BURGER KING
In this spot, I had to capture the spirit of SpongeBob without actually using any character art from the show. When SpongeBob leaves his home in Bikini Bottom, he turns into a photo-real sponge, very DIY style. I based this on that.
SPONGEBOB CONSUMER PRODUCTS AT TARGET
This
spot was to announce that SpongeBob SquarePants products are now
available at Target. This was the
first time that Target allowed a third party to use their logo as a design element in a
spot.
