IHOP/LORAX - SEED GIVEAWAY & SWEEPSTAKES

The Lorax traumatized me as a kid but was the catalyst for my love of Mother Nature. As this story was so significant in my life, I jumped at the chance to AD this project. It was very important to me that some Seussian elements & spirit were represented here - hope the good Dr. would approve!

This is a spot that announced IHOP's tree-planting initiative and sweepstakes to win a trip to Universal Orlando Resort's Seuss Landing.

TOYS R US/NICKELODEON GREAT BIG TOY RUN

A call for entries, this spot shows kids getting training for the Toys R Us/Nickelodeon Great Big Toy Run - a "5-minutes-to-run-through-the-store-grabbing-everything-you-can" contest.


SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS - LEGENDS OF BIKINI BOTTOM DVD

For this spot, we got to create original characters - little sea-kids spooking each other with terrifying legends from the depths of Bikini Bottom!

NEW + NOW - "COOL ENDORSEMENT" SPOTS

Nickelodeon wanted to create a franchise, which would give advertisers' products the Nickelodeon "stamp of cool." (without it looking like a direct endorsement of the product - hence the lack of Nick branding). The challenge was to create something that could house a range of products from video games to clothing. Here are two applications. Animation by the mighty Superfad.


DORA FANTASY ADVENTURE PRODUCTS AT TOYS R' US

This concept was based on a friends' daughter who never wanted to take her princess dress off.

SPONGEBOB WATCHES AT BURGER KING

In this spot, I had to capture the spirit of SpongeBob without actually using any character art from the show. When SpongeBob leaves his home in Bikini Bottom, he turns into a photo-real sponge, very DIY style. I based this on that.

SPONGEBOB CONSUMER PRODUCTS AT TARGET

This spot was to announce that SpongeBob SquarePants products are now available at Target. This was the first time that Target allowed a third party to use their logo as a design element in a spot.

SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS FOR NRDC

These layouts were for a pitch from Nickelodeon to the National Resources Defense Council. They rejected it for being "too self-serving." The assignment never got past the rough comp phase.

In an attempt to make Nick Jr.'s ads stand out from the over-busy DVD ad designs in parents' magazines, I came up with a more "lifestyle-ish" approach.

NICKELODEON/VIACOM CONSUMER PRODUCTS ANNOUNCEMENT

These ads were created to announce the merger of Nickelodeon with Viacom Consumer Products (NVCP) to the trade. What better way to illustrate this union by combining some of MTV Networks' most iconic licensed properties with some of Paramount's?





















DORA - DORA BIRTHDAY EVENT @ WALMART

Here is the cover and interior of an insert for Dora the Explorer products at Walmart. It doubled as an invitation for kids to come to their participating Walmart and take part in the festivities. They could have fit a few more products in there ;)

If you happen to be in Times Square, check out my outdoor advertising designs for Dora The Explorer's Big Birthday Adventure DVD...or, just look at it here. On the Toys R Us side, we celebrate with Dora & Boots. Across the street, on the MTV studio windows, various Nick Jr. characters salute Dora with birthday wishes.
